Huge fires which raged for the first week of March in the Cape Peninsula were brought under control thanks to a huge human effort. Rustic Homes salutes the firefighters of the Western Cape and those that came in from other provinces to help. It took 2000 people and 26 aircraft (which cost R2.4 million to fly and dropped 2 million litres of water in 2000 drops), to quell the flames.
