It is a well-known fact that in America on average 95% of all new houses are built in Timber Frame. In Australia an average of 85% of all new homes are Timber Frame and in New Zealand 87% of all new homes are Timber Frame. Why are we not specifying and building more timber homes in South Africa when the rest of the westernised world is building sustainable and energy efficient homes?
